Joanne Adamidou

Joanne Adamidou holds a BSc (Honors) in Applied Biology from Kingston University in London, UK, and specialized in Immunology with a MSc from King’s College, University of London. Following her considerable experience working with many obese patients at the Sleep Disorders’ Centre of St Thomas’ Hospital in London, she pursued a second BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics plus the Dietetic Internship program at the Ohio State University, with a scholarship and a cum laude upon graduation, while working full-time at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

She has significant working experience as a dietitian-nutritionist and a biologist following her growing interaction with a plethora of patients in the UK, US and in Greece; predominantly oncology, cardiac, diabetic and kidney patients, pregnant women, obese individuals seeking nutrition counseling for weight management and health problems, patients in rehabilitation and others suffering from sleep disorders, as well as emergency-room patients and those visiting the outpatient clinics. She has additionally been trained in sports nutrition, eating disorders and food management, while also applying her knowledge in the community setting providing optimum nutrition counseling for children and the elderly. She has further received ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, as well as CPR certification from the American Red Cross.

She is a lecturer and a laboratory instructor at New York College in Greece, teaching Nutrition and Biology courses that are part of the BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition and the BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences of the University of Greenwich, UK. She has also practised serological and molecular diagnostic techniques at Pasteur Institute in Athens, Greece. She has been working for Bioiatriki Healthcare Group since 2019.

Joanne is a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, and has served as the CPE Chair of the American Overseas Dietetic Association (IAAND). She has co-represented the State of Ohio at the Academy’s Public Policy Workshop in Washington DC in 2006, handling and promoting nutrition legislation issues. She has also been a highly involved member of the Hellenic Dietetic Association (HDA), having served as an organizing committee member at the 8th EFAD – DIETS Conference and past HDA Congresses, as well as a member of the HDA International Affairs and Communication Committees, Clinical Nutrition and Public Health Groups of Experts. She has attended a plethora of conferences in Greece and abroad, often as an invited speaker or chair, while authoring articles non-stop and educating the community on nutrition and diet issues through live or webinar presentations, as well as on TV and the radio.

Joanne believes that nutrition is more than calories or a Monday-to-Sunday diet plan, but is real-life nourishment, therapy and prevention, an athlete’s means for better performance, emotional relief in joy and in pain, gourmet or traditional taste, company and celebration.

When not traveling, Joanne likes to write and read, listen to music and sing, play the piano and take photos. She wants to go back to studying French, German and Latin, dancing ballet and playing tennis like she used to. She loves art and holds a Certificate in Fine Arts, having exhibited her final-year painting and sculpting project titled: “Positive images & stimuli in the NYC metropolitan environment”.

Theofania Sideri

Theofania Sideri has completed her initial undergraduate studies at the Department of Nursing at Technological Institute of Epirus, University of Ioannina in Greece, and she is currently pursuing her second BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Greenwich, UK.

She has worked as a nurse at Euromedica General Clinic of Thessaloniki, Greece, and specialized in patients with cardiovascular disease following her education. She used to collaborate with cardiologists in both simple and invasive procedures, like coronary angiography and angioplasty. During her career as a nurse, she realized that many diseases need special dietetic patterns and felt the need to help patients further, which is what led her into the field of nutrition.

She is regularly attending conferences and seminars on nutrition in order to be constantly up to date with new and emerging scientific data, especially relevant to clinical conditions. Upon completing her nutrition Bachelor’s in summer 2024, she aims to specialize in Clinical Nutrition so as to match and complete her already existing experience in the clinical field.
